
National Hispanic Heritage Month

National Hispanic Heritage Month, once celebrated for only a week during Lyndon
Johnson presidency in 1968. Later in 1988, Ronald Regan would expand it to a month-long celebration, September 15 to October 15. Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua's independence days all fall on September 15. Mexico celebrates theirs on the 16th, and Chile is on the 18th.
